About Pippin
I was born in York, but have lived all across the UK and love to travel. I was passionate about drawing from an early age, and when asked the question “what do you want to be when you grow up?” I always answered that they wanted to be an artist. Finding inspiration from fashion, nature, various cultures, and a love for the weird and wonderful!
I was formally trained in Animation at the University of Hertfordshire where I achieved a BA First Class (Hons) Degree, and then worked at Brown Bag Films for almost 4 years as a character designer. I worked on projects for clients like Disney Jr., Netflix, Kakao Corp and many more! Whilst at Brown Bag Films, I also spent a month mentoring the interns and helping to Assistant Art Direct on the interns projects.
I grew up with a deep love for ceramics but only tried it myself during Covid where I took a 6 week throwing class in 2022 at a community studio where I was a member for a couple months afterwards. I then took a 9 month break and spent that time renovating the old tiny brick shed in my garden into my little garden pottery studio that it is today! I have since bought a small metal shed to house my kiln to free up space as well! I only started sculpting more seriously in Spring 2025 as I entered the Potfest competition when I was exhibiting at Potfest in the Pens Spring in Penrith, and was incredibly suprised when my piece “Wolf In Sheep’s Clothing” won the Potter’s Choice Award and the Scottish Potter’s Prize. It was here that I decided to take the big plunge and start pursuing sculpture instead of throwing.
I’m usually out playing board games or Dungeons and Dragons with my friends or outdoors and exploring, usually with my crazy springer spaniel, Delphi! Alternatively, you can quite often find me in a quiet corner with my nose burrowed into a book reading about mythical worlds, daring quests, and magical romances.
I am always trying to seek new opportunities and adventures, and am eager to accept new projects!
